Job description
Mantra Systems is a growing business in the medical device regulation industry and is recruiting to increase the capacity of our IT department.
The primary role will be working in a helpdesk environment providing technical support to employees & clients, while recording any logged incidents and queries within SLAs to resolve issues in a timely manner.
The secondary role will be supporting the IT Manager in the day-to-day technical jobs, which can include networking, server management, workstation setup and general system monitoring.
This role is suited to either an IT graduate looking to work in this type of role, or a candidate with 1 to 3 years first-line engineer experience looking to progress, learn new skills and take on more responsibility.
There is also an opportunity to be a part of digital product development as Mantra Systems expands its range of online services.
Key tasks
- Helpdesk support
- Responding to and resolving staff, sub-contractors and customer IT problems, logging tickets into the IT Support system (Service Desk Plus) through a prioritisation matrix
- System management
- Monitoring/ updating existing IT systems and keep relevant information up to date
- Remote support
- Resolution of problems remotely in a secure and efficient manner
- Asset management
- Manage new/ existing IT hardware & software
Essential requirements
This role requires a friendly person who can support colleagues and clients with their day-to-day computing issues.
- Previous experience in an IT support role and/ or recent IT graduate
- Lateral thinking for identifying and solving problems
- Ability to work independently and as a part of the team
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365
- Understanding of the ITIL framework
- High proficiency using computer systems in general
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Fluency in English
- Legal right to work in the UK
This role will be office based working from the company HQ in Sheffield. While some home-working will be available, this role is not open to remote-only candidates.
